On Saturday 13th May, Greg took to the hills in Brecon with Oli, to deliver some bespoke 1:1 navigation training, with a little ‘Hybrid’ twist as Oli himself, has some extensive experience in the hills. He was just after that little bit extra to refine his abilities and be challenged which is exactly what Greg was able to bring to the table.
Using a great variety of navigation skills, starting basic from identifying and locating a lake (for a bit of wild swimming), and a trig point with some incredible views, shaping an understanding of the terrain translating the contours and features on the map itself, towards micro navigation, searching for rocky outcrops for some bouldering, concluding with inspecting an ‘area of shake holes’ to identify a potential cave entrance.
